A dozen more businesses have been shut down in the Fraser Health region due to coronavirus (COVID-19) transmission in the workplace – including two in Burnaby.

Under new guidelines established by public health officials earlier this month, health authorities and WorkSafeBC can close down a place of business if there has been multiple COVID-19 cases tied to the location. Those closures are posted online by each health authority.

In its first weeks of reporting, Fraser Health closed down dozens of businesses in the region, including restaurants, retail stores, and even the Maple Ridge outpost of Service BC.

Workplace closures due to COVID-19 cases are typically in place for 10 days.

The latest closures include Fitness 2000, located at 9304 Salish Court in Burnaby. Also in Burnaby is Reid’s Automotive Recycling on Trapp Avenue.
