North Vancouver RCMP have a suspect in custody for a particularly lucrative theft-from-auto Monday night.

Police say the thief smashed the window of a parked vehicle on 15th Street and made off with $9,000 in jewelry, the victim’s purse and wallet, credit cards, as well as car and house keys.

RCMP made the arrest of the suspect, who is well-known to police, just after midnight on Keith Road near Victoria Park. The 42-year-old man and his vehicle had been picked up by security cameras at two gas stations where he had allegedly used the victim’s credit cards after the heist.
