The Windsor Dukes kept their undefeated season alive Saturday at BC Place to book a spot in the provincial AA football championship final.

The dominant Dukes started slowly but hit top speed soon enough on the way to a 47-7 semifinal win over Chilliwack’s G.W. Graham Grizzlies in the big dome on the weekend. The score was 7-6 for the Grizzlies after the first quarter but the Dukes exploded in the second quarter, piling on points to lead 28-7. The barrage kept up in the second half as Windsor held tight on defence, led by the tackling of Jeremy Sinclair, Mitch Townsend and Ryan Baker, and continued to light up the scoreboard on their way to a comfortable win.

Baker, recently named provincial AA MVP, shone on offence as well, doing damage through the air and on the ground from the quarterback spot. Baker completed nine out of 16 passes for 200 yards and two touchdowns while also rushing for 163 yards and four touchdowns on 20 carries.

Julien Perri caught five passes for 128 yards, including two touchdowns. Ben McMichael rounded out the scoring, returning an interception 50 yards for a score.

Head coach Jim Schuman credited the offensive linemen Townsend, Sinclair, Colby LaLonde, Christian Capuno and Samson White-Bear George with paving the way for the Windsor attack, helping Baker, McMichael, Perri and Ryan Werbowski combine to rack up 280 total yards rushing on 38 attempts.

Windsor will meet Abbotsford in the Subway Bowl provincial final Dec. 2 starting at 4 p.m. at BC Place.
