Hat trick may be a hockey term, but the North Shore Twins baseball club certainly deserves that famous tip of the cap after completing a triple play the likes of which has never been seen in this province.

The club claimed provincial gold in the senior, junior and bantam divisions of the B.C. Premier Baseball League. The elite wooden-bat league added the bantam division last year and it didn’t take long for the Twins to become the first ever club to sweep all three age groups.

The senior Twins were near perfect in 2017, claiming the regular season title with a 34-10 record before earning the provincial crown with a 4-3 win over the Parksville Royals in the championship final.

The junior Twins also turned two, winning the league title with a 32-8 record before running the table in the BCJPBL playoffs. The Junior Twins finished off their run with 7-5 win over the UBC Junior Thunder in the championship final.

At the bantam level the Twins claimed the Baseball BC 15U AAA title with an 8-1 win over the Victoria Eagles. The win earned the bantams a spot in the 15U national championships running Aug. 24-27 in Summerside, P.E.I.
