FOUR North Shore teams booked their spots in the semifinals of the B.C. Soccer Provincial Cup tournament and will battle this weekend for berths in the championship finals.

In women's A Cup action the NSGSC Renegades topped Gorge FC 2-1 on Sunday to earn a semifinal matchup against Surrey United. They'll play this Sunday at Cloverdale Athletic Park starting at 10 a.m.

North Shore Girls Soccer Club also placed a team in the women's B Cup semis as the NSGSC Impact knocked off Prospect Lake SC 2-1 on Sunday. They'll meet North Coquitlam Elite this Sunday at 6: 30 p.m. at Sutherland turf field.

In men's A Cup action West Van FC, winners of the Vancouver Metro Soccer League's Imperial Cup last month, were defeated 1-0 by Surrey United Firefighters on Sunday. The win earned the Firefighters a provincial semifinal spot and a measure of revenge as they were the team that West Van beat in the Imperial Cup final.

In B Cup play NVFC Campobasso won an all North-Shore quarterfinal 2-1 over Shaheen FC to earn a semifinal berth. They'll take on Europa FC this Sunday at 3 p.m. at Windsor turf field.

Men's masters team West Van FC rounds out the North Shore semifinal quartet. The defending provincial and Western Canadian masters champions topped CV United 2-1 Sunday to advance to the semifinals. They'll take on UVic this weekend, location and time TBD.

Winners of this weekend's semifinal matches will go on to the provincial championships which will all be played on May 12 at the Burnaby Lake West soccer complex.
