HOCKEY CLINICS
Paul Nicolls minor hockey clinics are back. Training sessions include developing skating techniques: power, speed, quickness, ability and agility. Each camp includes four hours of instruction. There is one more camp running Sat./Sun. May 23/24 and Sat./Sun. May 30/31. Hockey 2-4 players 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.; Atom players 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.; PeeWee players 1 to 2 p.m. All sessions are at Twin Rinks. Cost is $80 for each camp. Register at the Chilliwack Minor Hockey office. Space is limited.

Special Olympics has a number of upcoming events: A May 23 Pub Night fundraiser at Friendly Mike's on Young Road from 6-10 p.m. Tickets $10. The AGM is June 19 at Mt. The Chilliwack Lake Sailing Club hosts the 2009 Sockeye Cup Regatta May 23/24 at Cultus Lake. Tasar, Laser and open division entries available. Free to sign-up. Contact CLSC at 604-793-0462 to register. CLSC will also be hosting a five day learn-to-sail summer camp from June 29th to July 3. This learn-to-sail program is designed for kids aged 6 to 15. The Upper Fraser Valley Native Youth Basketball Club invites all First Nations youth ages 12-17 years to come out and play basketball. Prospera Centre holds an open house Saturday, June 13 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. It's a community celebration day and free for the whole family. There will be a barbecue, ice skating, a bouncy house, floor hockey, prize wheel, entertainment throughout the day, a community bazaar for different community organizations, and prizes.
The Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour (MJT) returns to Chilliwack this summer. The Lindsay Kenney Classic at Chilliwack Golf and Country Club is set for Aug. 10/11. MJT last played at CG&CC a few years ago, and is Canada's only national junior tour run exclusively by Canadian PGA Professionals. Sudden Impact Dragon Boat team wants to fill roster spots for both new and experienced paddlers for the 2009 season. The team plans to compete at the Canadian Nationals in Montreal this summer. Sudden Impact is also looking for paddlers for its recreational team, Sudden Impact Blue, and will be running a junior program again this year. Men 60 years and over and women 55 years and over are eligible to join in the fun of keeping fit and healthy by playing indoor soccer. No previous soccer experience is required as a qualified soccer coach is available to teach the basics.
