CAPILANO Rugby Club's elite men's team began their defence of the Premier League title they won this spring with a 32-6 win over Bayside Saturday at Klahanie Park.

In May the Capilano men claimed their first CDI Premier League title since 2005 with an intense 22-21 victory over James Bay in the championship final. On Saturday they kicked off the 2012-13 season in fine fashion with a win over Bayside, a team that is newly promoted to the Premier League.

The Caps will now go on the road for two straight weekends before returning home to face Burnaby Lake Oct. 13 at 2: 45 p.m. at Klahanie Park.

Capilano's first division men's team also took care of business against Bayside Saturday, coming through with a 62-28 win.

On the women's side the Capilano Div. 1 squad dropped their season opener, losing 22-10 to SFU at Klahanie Park Saturday.
