Dear Editor:
I’m a self-employed medical professional (veterinarian) and I don’t have a problem with the government closing loopholes on high earning small businesses. There’s no point even debating what is fair and what is not fair when it comes to taxes.
I will say that generally those of us who have had the opportunity to have had a higher education and success in our professions to the degree that we are making a good living, should be grateful for our privilege and consider having a little generosity in giving back to those who we share this country with who have not had such good fortune. Instead of thinking of taxes as just something that takes from us, perhaps we could spend more time in thinking about the benefits of social programs.
