Edgemont

Dear Editor:

Am I alone in thinking that the residents of Edgemont Village and surrounding areas have been completely ignored in the mad rush by developers, politicians, bureaucrats and overseas buyers working in tandem to over-densify and pollute a once pleasant and friendly community?

The traffic jams and on-street parking by tourists visiting the suspension bridge are a significant contributor to air and sound pollution. Yet we blindly let this happen.

Rally the troops to stop the potential development of Grouse Mountain by foreign owners. We must remember access to Grouse is via the district and city. Perhaps a sizable “pollution toll” upon vehicles exiting the facility to cover the wear and tear of our infrastructure should be considered.

We must lobby politicians and bureaucrats to stop this insane development mania when ultimately the local residents pay the price whilst the aforementioned group cash in.
