LETTER: A traffic fix may come at ballot box

Dear Editor: We are approaching the winter season and yet again we see the failed policies of the local councils growing more critical every day on the North Shore roads.

Dear Editor:

We are approaching the winter season and yet again we see the failed policies of the local councils growing more critical every day on the North Shore roads. If early on controlled growth or even a moratorium had been put in place we would be looking at a different picture today.

I believe the warning signs were ignored when the people of West Vancouver descended on council chambers and demanded changes to the development policies, and were ignored.

We are now looking at what the politicians on the North Shore think of the people they are supposed to represent. More building permits are being issued daily like confetti, compounding the future problems.

When all the towers and buildings are complete our daily commute will get even longer, quality time with the family long gone, and gridlock worse than ever.

The failed mayors council proposed a mobility tax, which is another tax grab that will not solve the traffic problem.

The only change the people can hope for will be at the ballot box. Otherwise, you will have the same old decisions and the traffic situation will continue to worsen.
