Letter: During COVID, we've found solace eating out at our favourite North Van restaurant

Dear editor:

In the past weeks and months, my husband and I have looked for restaurants where we feel safe eating out during COVID.

One restaurant that has met our safety concerns indoors and on the patio is Northlands Bar & Grill, located at the bottom of Mount Seymour, near Parkgate Village.

While the food and service are very good, what makes Northlands special is the view from its patio overlooking the golf course and surrounding forest.

In the evening as the sun sets, one has a most incredible view while eating a meal and enjoying a glass of wine.

If you have seen the work of the late Chili Thom, you will feel like you are looking at a view similar to what might have inspired his work.

What is surprising to me is that this restaurant, with all its amenities – large parking lot, lovely view, good food, excellent service, and COVID protocols – is not as busy as it could be during these difficult times.

I am writing this letter to let people know this local restaurant is here for North Van residents and will provide customers with a dining experience that is safe and satisfying. Give it a try.
