A massive 11-ton tugboat engine formerly in possession of the North Vancouver Museum and Archives has finally found a new home after the archives decided to do some house cleaning earlier this year.

The 22,000-pound engine, which was originally built in 1951 and powered a Sunshine Coast area tugboat for 18 years, was lifted onto a flatbed truck May23, and driven to Kelowna. The 20-foot-long by nine-foot-high monster will become part of the collection of the Okanagan Antique Power Club, a non-profit organization devoted to antique engines and machinery.
