TransLink is getting ready to ask North Shore residents and bus riders for their input on its planned rapid service Main-Marine B-Line, which is set to be operational by the end of 2019.

The transit authority announced today that consultations were forthcoming on four new rapid bus line routes set to roll out across 12 Metro Vancouver communities, including the Main-Marine line that will serve Marine Drive and Third Street between Dundarave, Park Royal, Lower Lonsdale and Phibbs Exchange.

Although B-Line bus routes provide limited-stop service, connections would include stops at Lonsdale Quay and Capilano Mall, according to a release from TransLink.

B-Line service would include 10 minute or better frequency during peak periods, 15 minute or better frequency during off peak times, and would operate at least 18 hours each day, the release noted.

The public can have their say on the new B-Lines, including the one linking Dundarave and Phibbs Exchange, through a survey beginning April 3.

Residents and customers will be asked for their input regarding stop locations, local route adjustments and possible changes to street infrastructure in order to improve speed and reliability.

The new B-Line bus routes are expected to be rolled out by the end of 2019 as part of the TransLink Mayors’ Council’s 10-year vision.
