A mourning North Vancouver dog lover has left a memorial to their dearly departed pup in Princess Park.

A laundry basket full of communal tennis balls and makeshift plaque “in loving memory of Jezzie” is at the footbridge just east of the parking lot.

“Please help yourself to a tennis ball for your dog to play with. Keep it or drop it back in the box for another dog to enjoy,” it reads. “Remember to cherish this time you have together.”

The basket and bonanza of toys is proving popular with the many fetch-inclined canines who visit the park.
