Crime Stoppers is hoping a tip from the public can help solve a West Vancouver property crime before it becomes a cold case.

The agency has released a surveillance image of the suspect in a break-and-enter in the Park Royal neighbourhood from March as well as a description.

Sometime in the early morning of March 11, a man broke into the underground parkade of one of the condo buildings on the 800-block of Arthur Erikson Place by using a ladder to get over the gate. Several storage lockers were broken into.

Inside a suitcase tucked away in storage, the suspect struck silver or, more specifically, four silver bars valued at $10,000.

The theft wasn’t discovered for almost three weeks. Police don’t believe the theft was targeted.

Investigators say the suspect is a white male in his 20s. At the time of the crime, he was wearing a blue Adidas top with yellow stripes, black and white skater shoes and a Volcom baseball hat.

Anyone who recognizes the suspect in the silver heist is asked to call West Vancouver police or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
