Police seek ‘vehicles of interest’ after West Vancouver shooting

West Vancouver police have released surveillance images of vehicles that may linked to a Thanksgiving weekend shooting in the British Properties.

Just after 3:30 a.m. on Oct. 8, a gunman sprayed the home at 2639 Finch Hill with bullets. Most of the shots hit the upper floor. Despite the home hosting a party at the time, no one was injured.

The attackers escaped before police arrived.

Now investigators are hoping images of two pickup trucks seen nearby will jog someone’s memory or lead to fresh tips.

“We canvassed very extensively in the area for any home surveillance images or any information. Really what we can say conclusively is that, based on these images, these vehicles were in the vicinity around the time of the incident… They’re of interest to us,” said Const. Jeff Palmer, West Vancouver police spokesman. “Obviously, more information would be helpful.”

Police are still releasing few details about the shooting and many of the people at the home when the shooting occurred have not provided witness statements, Palmer added.

B.C. Assessment names Zhechen Cao, with an address listed as a property management company in Richmond, as owner of the 5,700-square-foot home, worth $6.3 million.
