A North Vancouver woman was seriously wounded after being hit in a drive-by shooting in Pitt Meadows on Sunday.

The incident happened around 9 p.m. on Old Dewdney Trunk Road near Lougheed Highway, according to Ridge Meadows RCMP.

Police say the 36-year-old victim was driving a dark grey Fiat 500 when she was targeted. After being shot, the woman crashed her car into a power pole. Bystanders came to her aid and she was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

The victim is known to police.

Now investigators are looking for two suspect vehicles, a silver Ford Focus hatchback with a Manitoba plate driven by a woman with a male passenger and a late model black or dark coloured pick-up truck with a male driver.

Any potential witnesses to the crime are now asked to come speak with police.

“No clue is too small,” said Cpl. Amanda Harnett, Ridge Meadows RCMP spokeswoman. “We are looking for anybody who may have seen the victim’s car or the two alleged suspect vehicles in the area of Reichenbach Road and Old Dewdney Trunk Road, including any video or dash-cam footage.”
