A Squamish man has been charged in one of the largest cases of criminal mischief in North Vancouver history as well as attempting to burn down the Capilano University Library.

Police say Shane Clifford Nendick was responsible for more than 180 tire slashings in the area around Capilano University and Park &Tilford on Dec. 4, 2014.

Just over a month later, someone broke into Capilano University Library, tore a safe from the wall and started a fire. Nendick is now facing charges for both.

In addition to the two high-profile cases, Nendick is also charged with breaking and entering at a Lynn Valley gas station on Jan. 10, 2015.
