It’s good news for those who frequent Lonsdale Quay, Lynn Valley and all stops in between via public transit.

Starting next week, the No. 229 Lonsdale Quay/Lynn Valley bus will permanently operate more weekend trips, TransLink has announced.

The revised schedule will see buses running every 20 minutes on Saturday, from 1 to 8 p.m. and every half an hour from 9 p.m. to midnight. On Sunday the 229 will run every 20 minutes from 2 to 8 p.m. and every half an hour from 9 p.m. to midnight.

The schedule changes are part of TransLink’s 10-year plan to improve Metro Vancouver’s transit system, which includes a B-Line linking Dundarave and Phibbs Exchange that will arrive later next year.

TransLink also announced this week it will be phasing out the letter “C” from its Community Shuttle routes. The C indicated a route was only served by smaller shuttle buses, but going forward, depending on demand, TransLink will put different bus sizes in service on these routes.
