Handsworth evacuated following bomb threat

Students streamed out of Handsworth Secondary Thursday morning after the school received a bomb threat at approximately 8:35 a.m. It took about 20 minutes to clear students and staff from the building, according to North Vancouver RCMP Cpl.

Students streamed out of Handsworth Secondary Thursday morning after the school received a bomb threat at approximately 8:35 a.m.

It took about 20 minutes to clear students and staff from the building, according to North Vancouver RCMP Cpl. Richard De Jong.

After assembling on school grounds, students were dismissed for the day at 10:15 a.m., according to a release from the North Vancouver school district.

Police would not release details of the threat nor how it was delivered.

Police are investigating with the co-operation of the school district.
