The B.C. Coroners Service and West Vancouver Police are asking for the public’s help to identify a man who was found dead two
months ago under the Lions Gate Bridge.

The man, believed to be between 20 and 35 years old, was found on the beach at the high tide line, just east of the bridge, in West Vancouver.

The man is believed to have been in the water only a short time, said coroner Lucy Pridgeon. It is likely the man died sometime between Feb. 13 and 15. Police and the coroner decided to ask for help from the public after missing persons files and other avenues of investigation failed to turn up the man’s identity.

The man is described as slim, white, with brown hair and a full beard, between 5’7” and 5’10” in height. At the time of his death he was wearing a yellow-orange Star Wars T-shirt, a hand-knitted navy scarf, a grey hooded sweatshirt with red and blue stripes, red polka-dot boxer shorts, black Cheap Monday jeans, grey Pillow Paws grippy socks, black Vans shoes, and a green Northern Reflections rain jacket.

A forensic artist has also completed a sketch of the man. Anyone with information about the man’s identity should call
the Coroners Service Metro Region at 604-660-7708, the West Vancouver Police Department at 604-925-7300 or CRIME STOPPERS at
1-800-222-TIPS.

Pridgeon said she hopes the appeal to the public will result in the man being identified.

“It is really sad,” she said. “I hope we identify him and we find people who know him.”
