Construction to impede Keith Road traffic, (yes, again)

Just as the District of North Vancouver is putting the finishing touches on the new five-lane Keith Road Bridge, the road is set for more than a month of lane closures for a separate project.

Just as the District of North Vancouver is putting the finishing touches on the new five-lane Keith Road Bridge, the road is set for more than a month of lane closures for a separate project.

Starting Wednesday and lasting until roughly the end of June, FortisBC will have “rotating lane closures, both east and west, on Keith Road between Brooksbank and Lynnmouth avenues for installation of gas infrastructure.

“We have moved a regulator station from Keith Road to Lynnmouth Avenue. That means there will be some traffic interruptions coming up,” said Nicole Bogdonavic, FortisBC spokeswoman. “Traffic interruptions will be intermittent during periods of construction. We will be running 24-hour shifts at times and it will be single-lane traffic.”

The work is being done as part of the Mountain Highway interchange project, which is intended to separate North Shore traffic from bridge traffic and alleviate congestion.
