Your journeys to and from Horseshoe Bay are about to get a little easier.

Starting June 26, TransLink is increasing service on the 257 bus route in order to add capacity and reduce crowding on Vancouver/Horseshoe Bay trips. According to a release from TransLink, the 257 will see extra service on weekdays during the late morning and evening peaks, as well as on Saturday afternoons and evenings, and on weekend and holiday evenings.

The transit authority also announced that fares are increasing by five to 10 cents come July 1 as part of a 10-year vision for improving regional transportation put forward by Metro Vancouver’s mayors’ council.

The revenue from increased fares will help fund improvements to the region’s transit with service increases for buses, SkyTrain, HandyDART and the SeaBus.

Transit fares last increased in 2013, according to the release.
