North Shore Winter Club curlers welcomed Scottish visitors for the opening draw of the Stratchona Cup Thursday at the Club. The Strathcona Cup is billed as the oldest international curling competition in the world, pitting men's amateur teams from the two countries against each other in a series of games.

The competition will make one last stop on the North Shore Sunday, Jan. 13 when local curlers will take on the Scots starting at 9 a.m. at Hollyburn Country Club. The competition features simultaneous West, Central and East Canada tours and will wrap up with final matches Jan. 31 in Toronto.
