School closures potentially creative

Dear Editor:

It is interesting to see that the North Vancouver school district is "seeking creative and innovative proposals" for the use of the schools that they recently closed. Hopefully with the next election we will all remember how our trustees voted on the issue of school closures.

My guess is a private school will be thrilled to lease a seismically upgraded school like Fromme with such a fantastic playground and large playing field. Those living near these closed schools can look forward to a steady stream of cars from those parents with the financial means to access these private schools.

However, on a positive note, if private schools do lease these schools perhaps some of the 800 North Vancouver children who currently attend the "creative and innovative" programs offered by the West Vancouver school district might return to North Vancouver.
