Nearly 100 snowshoers took advantage of perfect weather conditions Saturday for the running of the annual Snowshoe Grind Mountain Run held on top of Grouse Mountain.
Participants ranging from 15 to 72 tackled the 5.5-kilometre course which included the traditional Snowshoe Grind along with the Dam Mountain Loop. 2012 winner Shaun Stephens-Whale repeated as champion on the men's side, clocking a time of 26:09. Daniel Ribi was well behind in second in a time of 28:40 and Dave Cressman finished third in 29:13.
The women's side also saw a repeat champion as 61-year-old Frances Crowley won for a second straight year, finishing with a time of 38:12. Kathy Porter was second in 38:55 with Kristina MacDonald finishing third in a time of 40:01.
