THE FOLLOWING is a selection of volunteer opportunities from community organizations, made available through Volunteer North Shore, a service of North Shore Community Resources Society.
Clinic Volunteer: A volunteer is needed to greet blood donors and direct them to registration. Volunteers are also needed to provide donors with food and drink, promote donor registration programs, and watch for fainting and re-bleeding.
Pet Visitor: Volunteer will bring their dog to the Capilano Care Centre to visit regularly with interested residents to offer gentle, non-threatening interaction between residents and dogs, providing socialization, physical stimulation and therapeutic touch.
Community Policing Volunteers: The West Vancouver Police Department's community policing section is looking for teens to participate in community based programs and events that help reduce crime and educate the public.
If you are interested in these or other possible volunteer opportunities, call 604-985-7138. The society is a partner agency of the United Way.
