Abbotsford can claim credit for producing yet another up-and-coming music star.

Stacey McKitrick has just released her selftitled debut album. The record features a wide range in sounds from country-rock and pop over to two-step.

The ten-track CD was recorded in Nashville and features the first single, Friends for Life, that has been getting considerable air-time on the radio. The song was co-written by Nickelback producer Joey Moi and Chad Kroeger.

"I feel so blessed to have had the opportunity to work with such an amazing group of people on this record," McKitrick said in a press release. "As people we have many different sides to us. I have tried to put a little piece of me in every song on this album. Music is my passion and I'm so excited to finally be able to share it with the world."

Songs included on the album include What Goodbye Looks Like, How the Story Goes, and Blame It On The Drinkin'.

Earlier this year McKitrick was part of the group of artist participating in the K'NAAN Young Artists for Haiti song titled Wavin' Flag which helped raise money for earthquake victims.

In addition, she worked alongside the band Emerson Drive as they recorded a tribute to the men and women of the Canadian Armed Forces titled Strong and True.
