FOR the fourth time in the last year, someone has made off with heavy equipment from a construction site on the North Shore.

In this case, it was a 2010 Kubota excavator worth about $50,000, stolen from a construction site on the 400-block of West Keith Road.

Police can't peg down exactly when the theft occurred though it certainly happened sometime between the evening of Friday, March 1 and the morning of March 4.

"The theft occurred over the weekend, when no one was at the jobsite. The police are requesting that anyone who may have witnessed the theft or any suspicious activity in the area, to notify the RCMP at 604-985-1311," said Cpl. Richard De Jong, spokesman for the North Vancouver RCMP.

The excavator is an orange model U-34 with the vehicle identification number HCM1YA0K00265282.

Anyone who wishes to remain anonymous can call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477(TIPS).
