Cody Lawson, North Vancouver: Yes. I love snow, but we don’t get it usually. It’s quiet and serene; it’s beautiful. The best thing in the world is snow on the North Shore.

If the lights and gaudy store displays are any indication, the holiday season is upon us. But if you’re counting on a white Christmas, the grinches at Environment Canada are likely to disappoint you, predicting an especially mild winter on the south coast this year.

The North Shore’s ski hills may already be blanketed, but snow lovers who live closer to sea level will be lucky to see more than a few flakes. Not everyone sees that as bad news, however: rain may not be as pretty, but at least it’s easy to drive in.

Find us on Facebook or Twitter and tell us what you think.

Hussein Ghasemi, North Vancouver: Yes. I love the snow. It looks nice. It’s quiet. My son loves it. Snow is good for a couple of days.
Zahir Mitha, North Vancouver: No. I’m from Sweden. Nobody here knows how to drive in the snow. People just go crazy with their four-wheel drives. They can drive fast, but they can’t stop.
Lynn Wentland, North Vancouver: Yes (but) just for the day; that’s long enough. It’s damn near impossible to get around on the North Shore. On the mountains is good enough, but keep the snow there.
Lorraine Elliot, North Vancouver: Absolutely yes. It really adds to the atmosphere. If people aren’t used to it, it’s no big deal for them, but I always kind of wish for the magic of snow.
