Members of the Squamish and Tseil-Waututh Nations gathered at Swaywi (Ambleside Park) to launch their "Gathering of Canoes" to signify their joint declaration to protect the Salish Sea and protest Kinder Morgan's Trans Mountain pipeline project. Canoeists landed at Whey-Ah-Wichen (Cates Park) for ceremonies and feast.
