The Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal was created to mark the 2012 celebrations of the 60th anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II's accession to the Throne as Queen of Canada.

The commemorative award, which is being distributed to 60,000 Canadians, honours both the queen's service as well as significant contributions and achievements by residents. Many North Shore residents have and are scheduled to receive the honour in ceremonies locally as well as across Canada.

The photos on this page were taken at an event presented by MLAs Ralph Sultan, Jane Thornthwaite, Joan McIntyre and Naomi Yamamoto Nov. 25 at the West Vancouver Community Centre.
