The District of North Vancouver Firefighters Charitable Society 2012 Charity Fishing Derby took place Sept. 21. More than 120 anglers took to the sea before sunrise from Lions Gate Marina in North Vancouver and returned at 2 p.m. for the official weigh-in. Proceeds ($10,000) from the derby, which also included a silent auction and raffle, will go towards the Seymour Salmonid Society and Athletics for Kids.
