The 1200 and 1300 blocks of West 15th Street in North Vancouver were closed to vehicle traffic Aug. 26, allowing local residents to enjoy a community block party and get to know one another better.

Organized by Sandra Tweed (with the support of a variety of neighbours, community groups, agencies, businesses and grants), festivities included a barbecue, dunk tank, slip and slide, toys, face painting and games.

A highlight for many was a visit from the Chill Out Chariot, offering up Frosters, courtesy of Mac's Convenience Stores.
