Community members involved with Argyle Gardens wrapped up their growing season with a party at the foot of 15th Street in West Vancouver Sept. 17.
The growers have a rich history at this location, the first of its kind on the North Shore. The house that originally stood on the property was relocated and the land was acquired by the District of West Vancouver. Juanita Allan, a friend of the location's homeowners, immediately went to district hall after the house was moved and reserved her garden plot. That was 18 years ago and she and others are still digging in.
There are 28 beds on the site at an annual cost of $80.
