Lions Gate Bridge reopens, expect heavy delays on North Shore routes

Traffic is heavily backed up eastbound for the Ironworkers Memorial Bridge

The Lions Gate bridge has reopened, but the damage to the afternoon commute has already been done.

A tree that fell on the the Vancouver Causeway through Stanley Park earlier Tuesday afternoon was cleared just after 3 p.m., according to Drive BC.

But heavy congestion remained for travellers commuting to and from the North Shore, with significant traffic eastbound due for the Ironworkers Memorial Bridge.
