Regarding your Sept. 19, story, City Residents May Count Their Chickens, and Mayor Darrell Mussatto's comment that the City of North Vancouver is shielded by its geography from predators.
I'm relieved that council has approved keeping chickens in our residential area, as the Wagg Creek coyotes have pretty well eaten all the raccoons, skunks and any cats they can find west of Central Lonsdale. It will give these efficient carnivores something to eat.
Perhaps council should get some fresh air and walk one block to the south side of the mid-200-block of West 14th Street and admire the posted coyote photos. Then, a short stroll south to Wagg Creek entrance at West Keith/Bewicke to observe the bearwarning signs.
Good thing the beasts wander by three local schools; perhaps they will learn to read that they are no longer in the district.
