Let your dad know how much you love him this year with a creative giftwrap idea.

First impressions are important so why not take a little time to wrap your gift in a way that he will appreciate?

If you are planning to give your dad a gift in a box, try this giftwrap idea. This idea requires nothing more than a roll of brown wrapping paper (available at your local post office), black ribbon, tape or glue, and white construction paper. Shirt boxes work nicely for this idea but any box with a large front will do.

Wrap your gift in the brown paper and set aside. Cut one large piece of white construction paper that fits two-thirds of the front side of the gift. Tape or glue the white paper to the front side of the wrapped box.

Attach a black ribbon approximately two centimetres in width along the centre of the white paper. Tie a separate bow with the remaining ribbon and glue it to the package.

A variation of this idea is to use the black ribbon as suspenders. This is really cute on a gift. Wrap your gift as above with the brown wrapping paper. Run two pieces of the black ribbon down each side of the front side of the gift, vertically, tapering them slightly inward at the top. Secure them to the gift with your glue.

Add two rectangular-shaped gold or silver adhesive jewel stickers to the top portion of the black suspenders as the suspender clips.

Finish off with four or five buttons glued to the centre of the package.
