NORTH Vancouver resident Melodee Brown and her daughter, Saidee, a student at Handsworth secondary, are currently raising funds for an Arusha, Tanzania orphanage they plan to visit next month as part of an International Volunteer HQ mission to the country.

They will spend their three weeks volunteering at the orphanage, as well as conducting outreach home visits to people affected by HIV/AIDS, offering support through food and aid distribution, as well as information on healthy living.

In addition to accepting monetary donations via website gofundme.com/22i58w, the duo have organized a bottle drive to take place at Barry's Automotive at 235 Pemberton Ave., in North Vancouver, Saturday, March 2 and Sunday, March 3 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. All donations will go directly to the orphanage.

The Browns will continue to post updates on their Go Fund Me website so interested supporters can follow along and see how their donations are making a difference.

Those unable to stop by the bottle drive though still wishing to make a donation are encouraged to phone 604-985-2233.
