The 2012 FANS (Fund for the Arts on the North Shore) Tribute to the Arts took place at the newly opened Gordon Smith Gallery of Canadian Art in North Vancouver Oct. 25.

More than 100 guests were on hand to honour West Vancouver resident Douglas Coupland who received the 2012 FANS Distinguished Artist Award for his contributions to literary, visual and media art. Also honoured with cash awards were musician Adam Woodall and visual artist Anne Gudrun.

A silent auction and live entertainment by Woodall and 16-year-old Handsworth student Asha Diaz were also among the evening's festivities.
