Track of the Day: Bully - “Running”

Nashville band perform at the Biltmore tonight
Bully
Bully (Reece Lazarus, Alicia Bognanno and Clayton Parker) play the Biltmore Cabaret tonight.

Running” from their Sub Pop album, Losing. Bully play the Biltmore Cabaret tonight with MelkBelly. Doors: 8 p.m., Show: 9 p.m. 19+.

Nashville-based Bully, featuring lead singer and guitarist Alicia Bognanno, bring their tour through the Pacific Northwest, which must seem like a second home for a band heavily influenced by Kurt Cobain. Bognanno actually interned as an audio engineer with Steve Albini (the man behind Nirvana's In Utero and other classic albums by the likes of PJ Harvey, Pixies, The Breeders, etc.) at his Electrical Audio studios in Chicago. Some of the her other influences include Land of Talk, Kim Deal from the Breeders, The Replacements, Hüsker Dü, Kim Gordon from Sonic Youth and The B-52s, according to an interview Bognanno did with The Current. The raw, visceral sound on Losing was recorded to tape, old school, at Electrical Audio. Bognanno and her bandmates will be at the Biltmore tonight ready to make some noise.
