Squamish Nation hosts powwow this weekend

The 30th annual Squamish Nation Youth Powwow is scheduled for the Capilano Reserve Park, at 100 Mathias Rd. in West Vancouver July 7-9. The powwow features an Aboriginal dance competition with participants attending from across North America.

The 30th annual Squamish Nation Youth Powwow is scheduled for the Capilano Reserve Park, at 100 Mathias Rd. in West Vancouver July 7-9. The powwow features an Aboriginal dance competition with participants attending from across North America.

The event, which is open to the public, will include a salmon barbecue and many on-site arts and crafts vendors. Start times are Friday at 7 p.m., Saturday at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m., Admission $5, Kids under five and pensioners free. Bleachers removed for event, bring your own lawn chair.
