Tunisia
Young Tunisian singer/songwriter Emel Mathlouthi performs at the Rio Theatre on Sunday, May 14 at 8 p.m. Her song “Kelmti Horra” (My Word is Free), was considered the anthem of Tunisia’s Jasmine Revolution that marked the start of the “Arab Spring” in 2011. The North African musician’s new album, Ensen, produced by her own record label Little Human Records came out in February on Partisan Records. Vancouver duo Dálava opens.
