South Korean band BTS won the Billboard Social Artist Award for second year in a row on May 20 based on fan voting. BTS Metrics tracked voting on the final day with the band receiving over one million votes per hour compared with Shawn Mendes (13K), Justin Bieber (10K), Ariana Grande (9K) and Demi Lovato (1K).
Big Hit Entertainment is owned by Bang Si-Hyuk (“Mr. Bang”), who previously partnered with JYP Entertainment founder Park Jin-young as a songwriting duo.
A special “BTS Comeback Show,” hosted by Mnet in South Korea, will be broadcast live worldwide (online via Mnet Japan, YouTube, Facebook and Joox) on May 24 at 8:30 p.m. KST, featuring performances of “Fake Love” and several other tracks from the new album.
