UK singer/songwriter KT Tunstall was in town Wednesday to give fans a taste of what is in store when her new album, Tiger Suit, comes out Oct. 5 on EMI Music Canada.

During the day she visited Virgin Radio’s Vancouver studios and later gave an invitation-only gig in the lobby lounge at the Fairmont Pacific Rim. The 11-track disc, recorded at Berlin’s Hansa Studios (where David Bowie did Heroes), features songs such as “Glamour Puss,” “Fade Like a Shadow,” “(Still A) Weirdo” and “Madame Trudeaux” (inspired by Canada’s Margaret).

Always a great live performer Tunstall said from the stage that on the new record she was going for a sound that combined Eddie Cochran with techno’s Leftfield.
