Favourite art: Metal art

Favourite artist: John Tenniel

Her teacher writes: Emily is a very creative student. She loves to express herself using a wide variety of mediums. Last year, Emily focused on drawing, metal sculpture and jewelry. This year she has been exploring wood in her work and the world of flameworked glass. Emily's control of the molten glass is impressive and she has made several sculptures using this method. This multi-talented young artist usually has several projects ongoing at the same time. Emily gets excited when learning new forms of expression and it inspires the teachers who teach her.

Young Artists of the Week are selected from North Shore schools by Artists for Kids for displaying exceptional ability in their classroom artwork. For details, visit the website www.artists4kids.com.
