Activity Leader In the role as activities volunteer participant will assist staff and other volunteers in the different programs offered such as sports, cooking, homework clubs, arts, life skills, fun and social based programs for children/youth ages six-12 or 13-18. This position offers flexibility, enjoyment, one-to-one and group setting time with children and/or youth, as well as allows involvement in the programs that interest volunteer most.

Kitchen Volunteer Help be a transforming influence in your community. The Salvation Army provides a frozen meal program for people in need of an affordable, nutritious meal. Volunteers are needed to assist in the kitchen.

City Park Stewards Help to restore and enhance a natural space that supports habitat for native plants and animals. Volunteer to help plant native plants, remove invasive species and care for City of North Vancouver parks on the fourth Saturday of each month from 9 a.m. to noon. March 24 event will be at Upper Heywood Park.

Puppy Raiser Raise a dog from eight weeks up to 24-months-old. Teach the dog manners and basic obedience and socialize to all sort of things. The dog lives with the volunteer 24/7 and there are weekly classes in Ladner, B.C. as well as additional meetings.

Seniors’ One Stop Information Volunteer Mature, patient volunteers with good verbal communication skills and good computer skills are needed. Responsibilities include answering telephones, assisting walk-in clients by providing appropriate information and referrals. Comprehensive training provided. It would be beneficial if volunteer has knowledge about the North Shore, some of the services available and is able to speak another language, such as Farsi.
