Deep Cove Music’s A Tribute to Motown at the BlueShore Theatre for Performing Arts at Capilano University had the near-capacity crowd grooving to the soul and R&B sounds of Detroit’s musical heyday of the ’60s and ’70s on Sunday, Feb. 22.

Eight bands featuring 30 students from Deep Cove Music’s Band Factory program along with 15 other music students and DCM’s house band reeled off the hits. The show featured background dancers from Seymour Dance, video clips of Motown history and a finale rendition of the Supreme’s “Someday We’ll Be Together.”
