Celebrate royalty this weekend with tea time at Echo’s China and Silver on Lonsdale Avenue in honour of the royal wedding between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. Tea and cakes will be rolled out between 2 and 4 p.m. on May 19 at the storefront (the actual wedding itself is around 4 a.m. PST on Saturday). Guests are encouraged to get in the mood by wearing a fancy hat or fascinator.

Just in time for the long weekend, the summer season at Grouse Mountain is kicking off. Animal lovers should be sure to check out the West Vancouver branch of the SPCA May 20 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. for its annual flea market, where good quality jewellery, small furniture and household items, and baked goods will be for sale, with all proceeds going to the care and shelter of animals.

All you budding Andy Warhol’s can learn to create your own pop-art style portrait of your favourite individual, character or personality May 19 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Maplewood House. Those inclined to work up a sweat this long weekend won’t want to miss the opportunity to run, swim, and bike during the North Shore Triathlon held in and around Ron Andrews rec centre May 21, kicking off at 7 a.m. Racers can still register this weekend, and a pair of optional information sessions (one for the kids race and one for the adults race) are being held at 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. at Ron Andrews on May 20.
