Ive always had great skin, but never this good, says the creator of the all-natural luxury product line Tata Harper Skincare.

The Colombian-born beauty was in Vancouver last week, the only Canadian stop on a promotional tour that has her crisscrossing the United States this month. The News caught up with Harper at West Vancouvers Kiss & Makeup, which debuted the line in June.

Harper, who studied French in Quebec City before heading to Paris for university, moved to New York in her 20s then settled with her family on an organic farm in Vermonts Champlain Valley.

She was a devotee of expensive luxury beauty creams before her stepfather was diagnosed with cancer and his doctors advised him to stop using conventional personal care products, which Harper says were loaded with synthetics and toxins. Harper cleaned out her own beauty cabinet and when she couldnt find all-natural skincare products to meet her high standards, she created her own. I use all of the products twice a day. I made this for me, she says of the botanically infused beauty potions that are formulated in an old dairy barn on her 1,200-acre Julius Kingdom Farm.

The products are 100 per cent natural, with no synthetics or toxins, and formulated for performance. The majority of ingredients are organic, with some herbs and flowers grown right on her farm. Others are imported, like Spanish lavender, to relax muscles and smooth wrinkles, and narcissus bulb extract from Israel, to increase firmness and elasticity.

People think I spend an hour on my face but I only spend a minute, says Harper, a busy mother to three children under the age of three. Her beauty secret: Layer. Layer. Layer.

In the morning, Harper uses the Regenerating Cleanser in the shower, then applies Hydrating Floral Essence, Rejuvenating Serum, Rebuilding Moisturizer and Restorative Eye Cream. At night, she uses Regenerating Cleanser, Hydrating Floral Essence, Rejuvenating Serum and Replenishing Nutrient Complex.

Products range from $60 to $165. Not cheap, but as Harper says, youre paying for supreme quality.
